Manchester United have been dealt a major blow with the news that midfielder Hinata Miyazawa suffered a fractured ankle while on international duty.

The club confirmed the Miyazawa has undergone successful surgery and has begun working on her rehabilitation with support of the club's medical team.

Manchester United posted on X: "We can today confirm that while on international duty, midfielder Hinata Miyazawa suffered a fractured ankle. Your United family will be here to support you every step of the way, Hini."
Replying to fans via Instagram stories, Miyazawa said: "I will come back stronger. I will do my best to show you my play as soon as possible."
It's a disappointing end to a spectacular year for Miyazawa whose stellar performances driving from midfield at this summer's World Cup won her the Golden Boot with five goals and clinched a dream move to United.
