It was his sixth strike of the season in 15 appearances across all competitions and the English winger will be looking to reach double figures as quickly as possible.
The first half has flown by at St. James' Park with both teams eager to get their noses in front. Joelinton could have handed back the lead to the Magpies but he missed a free header from close range which kept the scoreline unchanged.
