The opening two games of San Diego FC's first ever schedule have been revealed early, with the expansion franchise set to play twice in their home state within the first week of the campaign, MLS announced in a release. They will travel to 2024 MLS Cup hopefuls LA Galaxy to open their first season, before hosting St. Louis CITY — the last team added to MLS prior to San Diego's arrival.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
San Diego has steadily fleshed out its roster ahead of a 2025 kickoff. They signed a duo of players from the Danish top flight in Marcus Ingvartsen and Jeppe Tverskov. Their biggest move to date, though, has been the arrival of Mexican star Lozano, who will leave PSV in January and make an MLS move.
The expansion franchise will play their home games at Snapdragon Stadium, a 35,000-seater soccer specific ground — shared with the San Diego State Aztecs and NWSL side San Diego Wave.
DID YOU KNOW?
San Diego hired former USMNT interim boss Mikey Varas as their first head coach, they announced last month. Varas spent three years with first the U-20s and then the National Team, and served as an assistant coach for FC Dallas from 2019-2021.
